...I think you know what to do... And if you don't then what are you doing here? My info page doesn't tell you much but it does have some pretty pictures. The memories may help you just a little. Or it might just make you think I'm strange Give me a shout if you want in but please do say hello, ok?

sorry to all of you who are daft enough to have me on your friends list who now have to put up with such a long assed post but i hate the ljcut thing, especially when its in my journal...
this was pinched from shegotgame with a few additions. appologies in advance for all the waffle, its for me really. and i know that some of you could come up with a much cooler list than me... (points at gique in particular).
SOUNDTRACK TO MY LIFE
Opening Credits: Faust - Tourbotrain its really short but has a good feeling of motion and impending doom... i really should not spilt this up with the track that follows it (Nervous, which happens to be one of the best bits of punk/noise i have ever heard) as they blend into each other and should be listened to as a whole.
Waking Up scene: The Beatles - Good Morning cheesy i know but fits the bill. the beatles had to go in here at some stage and this seemed the best place. you could also substitute this track for soooooo many other beatles tunes...
Average Day scene: Carl Finlow (Silicone Scally) - Deep Disolve still the best electro track i have ever heard. perfect choice for this section but then again it could be used for almost any section and still come thru like a trooper. mes thru and thru. starts slow and sparse and ends up full on and intense. i cant say enough about this track. the first time i heard it was when we saw him do it live and it made my hair stand on end. and it still does
Best Friend scene: Can - Shine a Light as shek said, "how can you only choose one track for this". and he was right. many many candidates. i ended up choosing this coz its long, and is a great track to sit back and chill and chew the fat over... which is what you do with friends. typical can. unclassifiable, musically superb and emotive. First Date scene: Sixtyniner - Boards of Canada i DID NOT choose this for the title. i am no way that type of boy ;) thats no way first date behavior! im more imagining things going really well and lookin at each other starry eyed with this in the background. perfect Falling In Love scene: Al Green - Let's Stay Together hold hands and tell me it doesnt feel nice...
Love scene: James Taylor - Something in the Way She Moves a bit more cheese but hey, who doesnt enjoy a bit of cheese every now and then. i must admit that this is aimed at a certain someone (points at sim) but why should it not be. i feel fine anytime she's around me... Fight With Friend scene: Aphrodites Child - The Battle of the Locusts / Do It battle bwoy! good song (well ok a couple of songs) for a fight if ever there was. i actually love these (but all fights involve a bit of love dont they), do it especially. all speed, aggression and electric guitar. bring it on!!!
Break Up scene: Autechre - Gantz Graf was toying with puttin this in the mental breakdown scene and i think it works for either. possibly the most chaotic track i have heard. no more needs to be said. Get Back Together scene: Sade - Love is Stronger Than Pride how true it is. a beautiful song, sung like an angel by a beautiful woman. always pulls on my heartstrings when i hear it. in fact im gonna dl it so i have it on my itunes... (bonus i just found a nice mad professor reggae remix too) "Life's Okay" scene: Warp 9 - Light Years Away fantastic bit of old school electro. always puts a smile on my face. reminds me of being younger and not having any worries. Heartbreak scene: Led Zeppelin - Heartbreaker predictable choice but why not. i love led zep and this is one of their best. bass, guitar, drums and vocals are all amazing and mr. pages solo kicks seeeeeeerious ass. awesome bit of rock from one of the best bands to grace the earth Mental Breakdown scene: Jeff Mills - Workers i have never had one so i dont really know what it would be like but if i was going to i think it would be like this. sheer drama and relentless techno punishment from the detroit loony Out in the Countryside scene: Dead Can Dance - Fortune Presents Gifts Not According to the Book i have done exactly this. sat on a hillside with a fantastic view and listened to this song. was so good i had one of those spiritual moments. u know when u just have such an intense feeling of bliss that you feel like you can fly. yeah ok there was green stuff involved...
Random Stuff scene: Art Garfunkel - Waters of March a lovely little ditty about random stuff. never quite worked this one out but i like it lots
Hardcore Sex scene: Frank Zappa - Dynamo Humm its rude and naughty and has wacka wacka guitars. what more could a boy want. some of the best lyrics ever too
City at Night scene: Fuse - Theychx i agree with sim about the fact that the city at night can be a very unexpected source of tranquility. for a track that is over 13 minutes long it doesnt do very much at all, in fact it finishes pretty much as it started but its absolute class. possibly hawtin's finest and that is saying somethin
Travel scene: Boards of Canada - Circle (Hooper Bay) my favourite boards track. stick it on in the car on the motorway or on the headphones on the train and life is suddenly a whole lot better. 2 and a half mins of boards genius. its those bass swells and the little blippy beats to the end. oh GOD its so good. everyone should have this track. im still a little surprised that the boards got 2 entries in my list but hey...
Getting High scene: KRS One - I'm a Blunt Gettin' Smoked krs is possibly the cleverest rapper as far as style and invention go. as for why its in this scene... what do i need to say?
Beach Fire scene: Madlib - Blunted In The Bombshelter (whole album) break out the red wine, get the skins together. mr shek said i wasnt allowed the whole thing but i just had to. a beach fire would need it anyway. a fine selection of dub reggae thats just right for the occasion
Feeling Basic scene: Company Flow - Little Johnny From the Hospitul (whole album) feeling basic: when you have over done it and you are only functioning on a very basic level... blunted dirty instrumental hip hop album. just what the doctor ordered (oops another full lp)
Deep Thought scene: LFO - Tied Up (Spiritualized Remix) nothing to say other than its has the desired effect on me Flashback scene: Kraftwerk - Tour De France bit of an obvious selection for such a major kraftwerk geek like myself but i make no excuses. reminds me of when im young and is one of the best melodies of all time, maybe THE best. makes a nice ring tone for my phone too Party scene: The Stone Roses - I Am The Resurrection MUST be the full length album version. The worst thing the roses ever did was to release the short version. absolute mother fucking stormer. just keeps going and going. i never want it to end Happy Dance scene: Panacea - State of Extasy i think its only mr shek and myself who ever appreciated this tune properly so this ones for you. seeing as its just for us there is no explaination necessary. shit the bed! that BASS Regret scene: Sore Throat - Fuckin Quiet for Long silence is always needed somewhere...
Train Bombing scene: Tommy Lee - Aerosoul graffiti - the story of my life. this track is so well done. it makes me think of cutting wholes in fences and spooky train yards. shit i can smell engine oil and grease and paint... Long Night Alone scene: Irresistible Force - Flying High (whole album) my fave album of the ambient house era. good to sketch to. good to be alone with Death scene: Danko Jones - The Cross a song to die to. aggro as fuck. stick it on ur ipod and go on a shopping mall murdering spree and tell me im wrong... Closing credits: Brian Eno - An Ending (Ascent) eno's best track. dreamy and beautiful
*phew* took me a while but i enjoyed it...
